Dear Parents/Carers,
I am delighted to announce that we raised a massive £960 at the Christmas fayre yesterday. This is a fantastic amount and will be put towards new flooring for the trimtrail and tyre play park, which we are hoping to have installed in the new year. A big thank you to everyone who donated items and to all of those who came and supported the fayre by buying them! We hope you enjoyed it. Thank you also to Miss Mellor and Miss Lloyd, who coordinated this event.
Many thanks, Jon Stevens.
Well done to all of the children, who have performed brilliantly in the shows this week for parents/carers and grandparents. They all sang beautifully and spoke really well and their dances were fantastic. Thank you to all for coming to watch - we hope you enjoyed the shows!
It is that time of year when bugs start to appear! Please be vigilant and if your child has been poorly, there is a 48 hour rule for sickness and diarrhoea. If your child is experiencing stomach pains, please do not send them into school. Thank you.
We have received complaints from local residents about parents/carers parking in front of their drives whilst picking up/dropping off children. Please be considerate to local residents, who need access to their driveways 24/7, and do not block their driveways. The school advice is to take the registration numbers and inform the police.
Also, please do not use The Brier School for parking, especially when using Breakfast/AfterSchool Club. Access is required and parents have been blocking the driveway. Please park on the roads.

Please note that the DfE have issued guidance to schools, requesting that they remind parents/carers about controlling access to school premises. The document states that:
However, the document states that parents/carers are able to come on to school premises at certain times by invitation, for instance:
To drop off or pick up children.
This means that schools have the right to ask someone to leave the premises and anyone who doesn’t would be classed as trespassing, which is a civil offence.
Schools also have a right to bar someone from the premises if they feel that their aggressive, abusive or insulting behaviour or language is a risk to staff or pupils and headteachers will write to these people and inform them of the decision.
If you have any questions regarding this, please come and ask.
