Message from the Headteacher

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you have all enjoyed a great summer break. It is lovely to see the children return to school with a smile, eager to get to their new classes and looking forward to the term ahead. They all look really smart in their school uniforms and new shoes! Please can you make sure that your child's name is in every item of clothing, including their shoes! A list of dates is on the back of this newsletter for this term. Please keep these to hand so that you know when events are taking place. If there are any changes, I will inform you via the texting service. Let us all look forward to a busy but productive term ahead! Many thanks, Jon Stevens.

Key Stage 1 Entrance

Due to ongoing maintenance work from the summer holidays, please continue to use the KS1 entrance for all Year 1/2 classes. We are hoping that this will return to normal by the end of next week. Please can all parents make sure that the door is not crowded, as children haven't been able to get past. Please allow your child to walk in by themselves. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Clubs

The list of clubs has been sent out today. Please fill in and return to school by Thursday 13th September. Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis as clubs have limited places. However, we do try to give every child at least one club.

All clubs will start week commencing Monday 17th September.

School Uniform

As the children look really smart in their school uniform, it is vital, and therefore an expectation, that they remain wearing it throughout the year. Please ensure that your child wears black shoes as well - no trainers allowed. Therefore, every child must wear: royal blue sweaters, white polo shirts, grey trousers/shorts/skirts and blue gingham dresses (in the summer). Indoor PE children wear black pumps & outdoor PE trainers.

Pupil Information Records

We have sent out Pupil Information Record sheets which contain the contact details that we have on our information system. If there are any alterations that need to be made, please make the changes and send to the school office by Friday 14th September. It is vital that we have up to date phone numbers in case of an emergency, as well as updating parents/carers with our text service. Thank you.

Important Information!

Newsletter Changes! In order to save paper and money, our school newsletter will no longer be sent out in paper format every week. Instead, they will be on the school website and emailed to you. If you are unable to receive it in these formats, please ask at the school office for a paper copy. Thank you.

Attendance

Our target is: 97+%

As you know, every week we celebrate good attendance in our Praise assemblies, and a trophy is given to the class with the highest attendance. Children are also praised for good attendance (97% and above) every term and prizes are awarded for 100% attendance.

Please can you make sure that your child attends school every day, unless they have been sick or have diarrhoea. Your child's absence will not be authorised if they are just feeling unwell. The advice is to bring them into school and if they remain unwell, they will be sent home. Hopefully, this year, we will reach our target of 97% attendance for the whole school.
